When I’m in New York, I’d prefer to find some secret treasures in Manhattan, instead of spending a lot of time on 5th Avenue and in Times Square. My friend Nelly
took me to Soho and the "Meat District" which once housed a collection of butcher shops, and now has been transformed into a trendy boutique area.
So many great shops to explore! I like the fabric of clothes in Creatures of Comfort in Soho
. The ballet flats of the French brand Repetto are so comfortable! Nelly told me she buys all the colors when they go on sale. Gravity Pope on 4th avenue in Vancouver
also carries this line.
I love to see the world re-inventing itself! The "Meat District" was such an interesting example of that.
I like Jeffery
. It’s a one stop fashion destination where you can easily freshen up your look for the season.
Though the brands are familiar, like Chanel, Celine, Gucci, etc, the pieces they picked are so easy to wear and make you feel polished.
We started with a latte and then browsed the books at MCJ Books
, an independent book store in Soho. It felt like a stylish way to spend an afternoon in Manhattan without breaking your bank account.
Do you have a favourite new neighbourhood? I'd love to hear about it in the comments below!
Wishing you the best discoveries!
